Notification for the 2016 Sound of Heaven Drum ‘The Great Cloud of Blessings—The Prayer which Magnetizes All that Appears and All that Exists’ Mass Recitation Practice
Commencement date: 29th of November 2016
1. Wondrous merits
The Wangdü, also known as the The Great Cloud of Blessings: The Prayer which Magnetizes All that Appears and Exists , snang srid dbang du sdud pa’i gsol ‘debs byin rlabs sprin chen) is the mind terma of the great Dzogchen master Ju Mipham Rinpoche. This practice consists of nine yidams including Amithaba, Dorje Cho, Pema Gylapo, Red Chenrezig, Guhyajñana, Vajravarahi, Dope Gyalpo and so on, and by itself comprises of the merits from the four activities of pacifying, increasing, magnetizing and subjugating, thus bestowing immeasurable blessings.
The commentary by Ju Mipham Rinpoche says that all who chants this prayer and supplicate the nine yidams will, without any doubt, accomplish all magnetizing activities exactly according to their wishes. They will be able to deliver all beings from suffering and be the own master of their minds, thus bestowing freedom and bliss to oneself and others. Dharma activities will also be successful as a result of reciting this prayer.
The dharma lineage holder of this prayer Dharmaraja Jigme Phuntsok Rinpoche stressed on the importance of holding mass practices for this prayer. He mentioned that this prayer will overcome all mara activities, obstacles, sickness and calamities. It will also bestow the practitioner great fortune, influence upon other people and grant many wishes.
2. Auspicious arising
Guru Yeshe Jamtso Rinpoche received multiple dharma transmissions under the tutelage of Jigme Phuntsok Rinpoche, including the practice of this prayer and yidams. He has completely attained the siddhis of magnetizing activities and has seen with his very own eyes the manifestations of all the nine yidams mentioned in this prayer.
During the mass practice even in 2015, guru taught that,
“The Wangdü is a practice of buddhas and yidams associated with the activity of magnetization. They include Amithaba, Chenrezig, Guru Rinpoche, Hayagriva, Vajravarahiby, MahaDeva and so on. The blessings from this practice are inconceivable. It can be written on to red coloured fabric and be used as a flag; carved onto red coloured crystals or stones, gathered into piles or placed into flowing waters; written onto red coloured papers and burnt or to be worn around the neck; recited by oneself. Doing any of the above will enable us to turn away all outer, inner and innermost obstacles and transform them into positive affinities. It can also improve interpersonal relationships; allow one to cast a favorable impression on others, in this way achieving bliss and tranquility. If one recites the prayer whole-heartedly, he can tame beings that cannot be seen by the naked eye. If he practices diligently, he can also subjugate heavenly beings and powerful demi-gods. Practicing this prayer will transform perilous, inhabitable or insufferable environments into tranquil ones. Anyone who practices this prayer well will thus be able to be present in any sort of environment and still remain calm and blissful.Anyone who has successfully attained the siddhis of magnetization will always be beautiful and attractive in other people’s eyes. There will be blessings bestowed on not only what the practitioner eats or adorns, but also his luck in daily living. His children and descendants will also benefit from the practice. His family will be well and prosperous. And especially on the path of dharma practice, obstacles related to requesting for teachings, attaining siddhis and Buddhahood, will also be cleared. When we dedicate the merits of magnetization practice to other people around the world, not only do we enhance their wealth and prosperity, we are also able to quell various demonic forces around the world. The world will become a better place with lesser calamities and nature (flora and fauna) will thrive. There will also be great help to reducing poverty amongst people, and also to aid propagating the dharma around the globe. When taking part in the mass recitation practice, everyone will be able to receive all the merits accumulated within this practice. The organizing and participation of such dharma practices all require good cause and dependent arising; yet such variables are constantly in change. Therefore practicing magnetizing prayers can help prolong such good dependent arising factors, and allow the practices to continue without hindrance. Ju Mipham Rinpoche has made such a comment before; HH Jigme Phuntsok Rinpoche has also given detailed commentaries on the merits of the magnetizing practice; these merits are also mentioned in many Buddhists texts. When all of us complete this practice, we will also be able to obtain all the merits mentioned by our masters and Buddhists texts. ”
